There are countless travel blogs out there with advice on how to best experience Paris.

Here are my top five favorites!

  1. HIP PARIS

The founder of Hip Paris, Erica Berman, shares a love for both Paris and one of my other favorite places on earth: Maine. In other words, Hip Paris had me at hello and bonjour.

Hip Paris effortlessly caters to a wide audience without ever losing sight of its primary aim, which is to take you off the beaten path in Paris. Whether you’re visiting Paris for the first time; have been before and want to explore a new part of town; or live there and want tips for original things to do on the weekend, this blog works for you.

The website is modern and well-designed, featuring sections on vacation rentals and hotels, food/drink, shopping, the arts, and events.

2. SECRETS OF PARIS

The Secrets of Paris website and newsletter were created by Heather Stimmler, an American-born journalist living in France since 1995. At the time, it was only one of three websites about Paris in English. This no-nonsense site is a treasure trove of information with a mission to encourage authentic slow travel experiences, promote local businesses and artisans, and support the city of Paris’s unique character and spirit in the face of the global tourism complex.

3. CULTUREZ-VOUS

I love this blog. And not just because it is totally focused on culture, ma passion. Culturez-vous is a French blog that has existed since 2012 and is dedicated to the democratization of culture. This sounds way heavier than it really is! Culturez-vous translates as “Do you culture,” and the aim of the founder, Antoine Vitek, is to invite all of us to engage culturally. Culture is not out of reach or snooty, but rather something we can all do. Culture is our heritage.

The site is divided into four sections, Discover, Listen, Travel, and Taste, and includes lots of interviews, and Culturez-vous is often behind the scenes at the openings of new exhibits, monuments, and other cultural events. Vitek also has a pretty fun Instagram account.

4. PARIS UNLOCKED

Paris Unlocked was started by Courtney Traub, who covers France and Paris for TripSavvy and is co-author of the 2012 Michelin Green Guide to Northern France & the Paris Region. The Paris Unlocked site provides valuable practical tips for traveling to Paris, along with wonderfully informative blog posts about Paris's history and culture. Taub also conducts incredible interviews with the likes of pastry chef and cookbook author, David Lebovitz, and Kerri Maher, author of the novel, The Paris Bookseller.

5. PARIS PERFECT

Paris Perfect is one of Paris’ leading vacation apartment rental agencies. They have 20+ years of experience and a large portfolio of beautiful properties in Paris. They strive to be full-service and help clients create the vacation of their dreams. As such, the Paris Perfect website is like a concierge service with blog posts and articles covering everything from the best hot chocolates in Paris to why the City of Lights is perfect in winter. Paris Perfect also includes write-ups of the major museums and provides information for every kind of tour imaginable.
